Communication We will be focussing on modelling a range of verbs (action words) and adjectives (describing words) during play. Children need a variety of different word types in their vocabulary to allow them to combine words together. For example, "orange apple" doesn't have much meaning, but "eat apple" or "big apple" does. They will also have opportunities to introduce themselves to the group and practise following two stage instructions, e.g. "Get a hat and put it on your head."

Problem Solving / Play We focus on your child’s ability to engage in pretend play that imitates situations that are highly familiar (e.g. brushing hair or eating some food). We will also be looking to see if your child is beginning to use objects ‘symbolically’ in play (e.g. holding a cup to their ear pretending it is a phone).
